UPSCALE SAFARI-STYLE TENTS
Positioned on the slopes of a volcano on the Galapagos island of Isabela, Scalesia Lodge offers a selection of upscale safari-style tents with fantastic views.
Of all the populated islands in the Galapagos, Isabela is one of the most pristine with an untamed landscape of towering volcanoes, natural forest and shallow waters. You’ll find the majority of the archipelago’s famous wildlife roaming the island, including blue footed boobies, marine iguanas and penguins in addition to numerous bird species. The iconic Galapagos tortoise can be found in the Sierra Negra Volcano area, whilst whales and dolphins can be spotted offshore.
You’ll find Scalesia Lodge nestled in the island’s forested highlands where it enjoys fabulous views over the coast and Pacific Ocean beyond. The property comprises 16 peaceful tents, each offering a superb base from which to enjoy a multitude of activities. You can go scuba diving, take birdwatching tours, hike up an active volcano or take to the water on a kayak. Why not visit the nearby tortoise breeding centre for an insight into the work being done to preserve these magnificent creatures.
