ABOUT THE ITINERARY
Whether you are lazing on a pristine beach, meeting local farmers or walking barefoot through a beautifully decorated temple, Indonesia is certainly one of the most alluring holiday destinations imaginable.
Our Simply Indonesia holiday itinerary will transport you to Ubud, the island’s cultural heart, where you’ll be welcomed by emerald hills, intricately carved temples, tranquil lotus pools and the gentle smiles of the local people.
Travelling on to Munduk on your luxury Indonesia holiday, you will stop to discover the renowned Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, and in Lombok you’ll be able to plunge into a warm sea populated by countless fish and living coral reefs. Time is also allotted for pure relaxation on Lombok’s pristine Sire Beach – complemented by majestic sunsets over Mount Rijiani.
UBUD
Upon arrival in Ubud you will be transferred to your stylish hotel surrounded by green forests and terraced rice paddies. Considered the spiritual heart of Bali, Ubud is an absorbing place and you’ll have ample time to explore its Hindu temples, art galleries, shrines, bustling side streets and thriving arts and crafts community.
On the third day you’ll venture out on a scenic cycling tour, a chance to delve deeper into Bali’s scenic countryside and interact with the local farmers and craftsmen. The following day features a private cooking class – an opportunity to learn how to prepare a traditional Balinese meal using local ingredients. The last day you’ll have totally free to relax or explore the region further on trekking or white water rafting expeditions.
Stay: Four nights in a Bisma Suite at Komaneka Bisma – including breakfast
MUNDUK
Today you’ll make the two-hour drive to Munduk, stopping en route to see the stunning, UNESCO World Heritage-listed Jatiluwih Rice Terraces. Before reaching your hotel you’ll also visit the Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, a famous complex set on the banks of Lake Bratan.
In the hill station of Munduk you’ll find yourself immersed in a magnificent landscape of verdant rice fields, age-old rainforests, cacao and clove plantations and the shimmering lakes of Bratan, Buyan and Tamblingan. The peaceful surroundings are perfect for quiet meditation, but you can also enjoy challenging treks or take part in a water blessing.
Stay: Three nights in a one bedroom bungalow at Sanak Retreat – including breakfast
LOMBOK
On the ninth day of your holiday you’ll be transferred to the airport in time for your flight to the tropical paradise of Lombok. Upon arrival you will be driven to your hotel set amidst swaying palms on the pure white sands of Sire Beach.
Here, on Lombok’s north-western tip, you can spend glorious days soaking in the sun and swimming in crystal clear waters. You can take diving tours to the nearby Gili Islands where you’ll find an abundance of turtles, reef sharks and exotic, multi-coloured fish. Try your hand at pearl cultivation, stretch out on a deserted patch of beach or ride bicycles around the Tanjung Ringgit area, discovering the peninsula’s luxuriant flora as you go. You can also choose the greens of a neighbouring golf course, or the shady palms of your hotel’s six-acre plantation. Hike Mount Rinjani to witness a sensational sunset.
