LIMA
Arrive into Lima, the Peruvian capital and where your adventure begins. You will be staying at the luxurious Belmond Miraflores Park hotel in the upmarket neighbourhood of Miraflores and overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Known as the ‘City of Kings’ and one of the oldest cities in the Americas, your expert local guide will accompany you on a tour of the city’s most famous attractions, including the historic centre, where the San Francisco monastery is found and also the catacombs. You will also visit one of the South America’s most impressive museums, the Larco Herrera Museum, which is home to a huge collection of pre-Columbian art. Lima is also famous for its gastronomic scene and evenings can be spent dining in one of the capital’s world-renowned restaurants, which include Astrid y Gaston, Central and Maido.

SACRED VALLEY
From Lima you will fly to the ancient Inca capital of Cusco, but rather than staying in the city you will instead be taken into the beautiful surroundings of the Sacred Valley. A stunning area home to ancient Inca ruins, markets and at a lower elevation so the ideal place to acclimatise.
You will be staying at the Belmond Rio Sagrado hotel, which has a privileged position on the banks of the Urubamba River and surrounded by lush gardens. It is an ideal spot to relax and also discover some of the historic Inca remains found in the surrounding countryside. For those not wanting to venture too far from the hotel, there is also a lovely outdoor heated swimming pool and spa.

MACHU PICCHU
Today you will embark on an unforgettable train journey to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu. Board the Belmond Hiram Bingham train, one of South America’s great train journeys, winding through the cloud forest and alongside the Vilcanota river towards the Inca Citadel. You will be wined and dined on board, before arriving in the afternoon for a guided tour of the ruins.
Once inside your expert guide will lead you through the iconic ruins, sharing fascinating insights into the history, architecture, and purpose of this enigmatic site. Discover the incredible precision with which the Incas built the city, marvel at the terraced agricultural fields, and stand in awe of the Intihuatana Stone, a ceremonial site believed to have been used for astronomical observations.
The day ends on board the Hiram Bingham train, this time travelling to the Inca Capital of Cusco, where your Belmond hotel awaits.
Stay: Three nights at the Belmond Palacio Nazarenas – bed & breakfast
CUSCO
Over the next two days you will explore the ancient Inca capital of Cusco. Known for its stunning blend of Inca and colonial architecture, the city is rich in culture, with vibrant markets, ancient ruins, and cobblestone streets. Surrounded by breath taking mountain landscapes, Cusco offers a unique experience of history, art, and tradition. With your expert local guide you will explore the historic centre of the city, as well as the ancient Inca ruins of Sacsayhuaman.
BELMOND ANDEAN EXPLORER TRAIN
Today board South America’s only luxury overnight sleeper train, the Belmond Andean Explorer. Over the next two days you will travel from Cusco to the Colca Canyon, stopping for a full day visit to the floating reed islands of Uros and Taquile at Lake Titicaca en route.
Whilst on the train you will be looked after by a highly skilled and exceptionally talented team of staff, including a specialist Belmond guide who will accompany you on daily activities. COLCA CANYON
After disembarking the train you will be driven into the vast and remote Colca Canyon. The second deepest canyon in the world, surrounded by Inca terraces and with the Colca river gentling flowing through.
You will be staying at the Belmond Las Casitas hotel, which has an envious position on the valley ways and overlooking the Colca River. The hotel has an outdoor heated pool and is the perfect base for hiking or riding in the canyon.
