ABOUT THE ITINERARY
Our Classic Kenya itinerary combines a bush safari and beach holiday to offer you the chance to see the country’s wildlife by jeep, on foot or on horseback.
Regular safari goers know how rare it is to see endangered black rhinos and rare white rhinos at the same location, but Lewa is one of those special places. Set on the Laikipia Plateau, this private conservancy has a limited number of visitors and an almost unlimited stock of wildlife. Not to mention a stunning landscape, with sweeping grasslands stretching off to a horizon shaped by the snowy peaks of Mount Kenya.
From Lewa, you’ll fly to the legendary Masai Mara, home of the Great Wildebeest Migration as well as huge numbers of lion, leopard, elephant, gazelle and buffalo that roam across the region’s rolling savannah. The southern coast will then introduce you to world-class beaches and the Indian Ocean, where you can fill your days with snorkelling and swimming in astonishingly clear waters.
NAIROBI
You’ll be met upon arrival in Nairobi and chauffeured to your boutique hotel to spend one night.

LAIKIPIA PLATEAU
The following day you will be transferred to Nairobi Wilson in time for your scheduled flight to Lewa, where a wonderful game-viewing experience awaits. Comprising 62,000 acres of prime savannah and rolling bush in Laikipia, Lewa has all the diversity and richness of game you’d expect of a major national park.
In fact, it is one of the few remaining places where visitors can see both black and white rhinos, in addition to plenty of plains game such as zebra and antelope. Rare species like the reticulated giraffe may also make an appearance on your game drives, as well as countless fascinating birds.
Stay: Three nights in a cottage at Lewa Wilderness Camp – full board
MASAI MARA
On day five another light aircraft will fly you over miles of Kenyan grassland to the heart of the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Here you’ll be staying in an intimate, tented safari camp wonderfully positioned by the river in the Mara North Conservancy. You’ll find yourself surrounded by savannah grasslands punctuated by iconic thorn trees, rounded hills and towering forests – the natural home to a huge diversity of birds, as well as elephants, buffalo, waterbuck, leopards, cheetahs and lions.
The conservancy also plays hosts to the annual migration of over a million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle across the Masai Mara – one of the most awe-inspiring sights in all of nature.
Stay: Three nights in a double tent at the Serian Original – full board
LAMU ARCHIPELAGO
Now it’s time to see another side of Kenya. Flying back to Wilson Airport, a light aircraft flight and boat transfer will bring you to Manda Bay, a gorgeous beach hideaway set on an idyllic island in the Lamu Archipelago.
You can choose to scuba dive or snorkel in the crystal clear Indian Ocean, go water skiing, deep sea fishing or simply take the time to relax. There’s a beautiful landscaped swimming pool, as well as a cosy lounge where you can sip a sundowner whilst soaking up beautiful views across the bay. Altogether, a brilliant way to round off a classic Kenyan adventure.
