ABOUT THE ITINERARY
In Botswana, the more you explore the more you’ll discover. Begin in the World Heritage-sponsored Okavango Delta, where annual floodwaters create unique wetlands that support all kinds of wildlife, before flying to the huge Kwando Concession to spend a couple of nights in one of the finest wilderness camps in Africa. The wild dog sightings are legendary, whilst game drives after dark will give you nocturnal sightings of even more elusive species.
You’ll end with one of Africa’s greatest natural marvels. The Victoria Falls at Livingstone is a thundering, breath-taking spectacle, created as a mighty river – the Zambezi – plunges over a soaring cliff.
DESIGNED BY SPECIALISTS
Bear in mind, these are just a starting point as all holidays are customised to the specific requirements of our guests. Whether you prefer a different style of accommodation, a greater focus on a particular interest or to go to a different destination all together, every itinerary is created individually around your preferences.
OKAVANGO DELTA
Arrive in Johannesburg. Connect with your onward flight to Maun, where you’ll be met and transferred by light aircraft to your camp at the heart of the Okavango Delta. This region is celebrated the world over for its huge diversity of wildlife and excellent, year-round game viewing. Expect to see as many as 400 species of birds, as well as lions, elephants, hyenas, wild dogs, buffalo, hippo, crocodiles, a variety of antelope, monkeys, warthogs, genets, mongoose and more.
Surrounded by permanent water and seasonal floodplains, your camp has a prime position in the private Kwara Reserve which shares a 30km boundary with the Moremi Game Reserve. As well as day and night 4×4 game drives, motor boat trips, fishing and guided walks, you’ll get to explore the delta the old-fashioned way – in a traditional mokoro canoe.
Stay: Three nights at Splash Camp – full board
KWANDO LINYANTI
Today another light aircraft brings you to Lebala on the floodplains of the Kwando River. A guide will meet you at the landing strip and take you to your camp set in the huge, unspoiled Kwando Concession that stretches from the Okavango Delta to the riverine marshes on the Namibian border.
On guided walking safaris and game drives you’ll be able to track great elephant herds, big cats, zebras, giraffes and wild dogs through 232,000 hectares of unfenced wilderness. You’ll even be able to venture out after dark in search of the more elusive nocturnal creatures. From the deck of your secluded tent you’ll have gorgeous views across the vast plains, and in the evenings, you can huddle around the roaring fireplace.
Stay: Three nights at Lebala Camp – full board
VICTORIA FALLS
Your exploration of Botswana ends with the spectacular – a trip to the astonishing Victoria Falls. A light aircraft brings you to Kasane, where you will be met and driven across the border into Zimbabwe.
Prepare to stare in open-mouthed wonder at the sight of millions of gallons of water crashing over a mighty precipice, framed by a near-permanent rainbow. You’ll be staying at what is geographically the closest hotel to the Falls, a mere eight-minute walk away from this World Wonder. You can view the falls from the heart-racing Devil’s Pool, or get a bird’s eye view on a thrilling helicopter flight. Fishing, white water rafting on the Zambezi River and bungee-jumping off the Victoria Falls Bridge are also available. As are game drives in the Victoria Falls and Zambezi National Parks.
