GREATER DAINTREE RAINFOREST
A boutique wilderness retreat just south of Cooktown, the main draw of Mungumby Lodge is its proximity to the magnificent, biologically-diverse Greater Daintree Rainforest.
Surrounded by a timeless rainforest, towering peaks and spring-fed creeks, a stay at Mungumby Lodge is a chance to escape the madding crowd while exploring north Queensland’s pristine wilderness. Within walking distance are opportunities to observe unique indigenous wildlife, swim in jungle waterfalls and be immersed in the rich Aboriginal culture. Inland lakes offer great birdwatching, whilst the lodge’s enviable setting on the Great Barrier Reef coast promises rewarding snorkelling and diving experiences.
BEAUTIFUL MUGUMBY CREEK
Nestled within the lodge’s tropical gardens are 10 standalone wooden bungalows. Each is comfortably furnished with a private patio where you can unwind whilst keeping an eye out for local birds. The main homestead has wide-open living areas overlooking the beautiful Mugumby Creek – the perfect place to enjoy breakfast and catch up on some reading.
