EXPERIENCE THE PRISTINE BOTSWANAN WILDERNESS
Perched on a cliff overlooking the Boteti River, a lifeline for the animals that inhabit Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, Leroo La Tau is a great base from which to experience this pristine Botswanan wilderness.
Leroo La Tau translates into ‘lion’s paw’, and the surrounding area certainly features an abundance of these majestic creatures. But that’s not all you should look out for on your exhilarating game drives. Zebra, wildebeest, chobe bushbuck, spotted hyena and jackal – to name but a few – all roam this landscape.
Water levels permitting, your guide will take you out on the Boteti to see wildlife from a different perspective, as well as on day trips out to the Nxai pan and Baines Baobabs. The camp has its own hide where you can watch game pass you by, as well as a thatched wooden dining room and sparkling pool.
From your raised wooden tent, you’ll enjoy a charming view over the river and the wildlife that come to drink. But one of the most magical experiences Leroo La Tau offers is the opportunity to sleep under the starry Botswanan skies on a remote pan in the southern Makgadikgadi Salt Pans.
