A SCINTILLATING COLLECTION OF ISLANDS
With an amazing undersea world, a scintillating collection of islands, powder-soft beaches and warm Bahamian hospitality, you’ll only have to ask yourself one question…how deeply do you want to dive into The Bahamas?
Made up of more than 700 subtropical islands and countless uninhabited cays, all framed by clear waters and spectacular swathes of reef, The Bahamas are as surprising as they are diverse.
Take New Providence and Grand Bahama, for example, with their glamorous resorts, glittering array of restaurants and casinos, and nightlife all their own. Very different to the serene Out Islands just a few miles away, where you can expect to find a more traditional Bahamas and a slower pace of life.
Our experts will be delighted to tell you about island-hopping to, say, Harbour Island with its picture-perfect beach of fine pink sand stretching for three and a half miles around an achingly beautiful coastline. Or The Exumas, a chain of tiny cays and islets home to the world-famous swimming pigs, where the sand is pure white and the water a deep aquamarine. They will introduce you to the thriving sailing scene, leisure fishing and the idea of snorkelling in shallows that teem with vivid sea creatures or scuba diving into a world of dolphins, rays and fascinating wrecks.
Above the surface, you can explore Bahamian city life in downtown Nassau, connected to Paradise Island by a road bridge. The only city in The Bahamas and steeped in British colonial history, a walking tour around the historic centre will reveal art galleries, museums and rum distilleries.
