ABOUT THE ITINERARY
The first half of your trip will be spent at a luxurious, riverside safari camp in the Selous. One of Africa’s largest and least exploited wildlife sanctuaries, you’ll have the opportunity to explore a diverse array of habitats in search of lions, elephants, leopards, giraffes and more. In addition to bush walks and game drives, you’ll have fly camping, fishing and boating opportunities all at your doorstep.
After the drama of the African bush you’ll fly to Pemba Island where you’ll be surrounded by the blue waters of the Indian Ocean and some of the country’s finest beaches. Days can be spent snorkelling, scuba diving, water skiing and windsurfing, or simply catching up on some reading by the pool. The perfect end to a captivating Tanzanian safari.
DESIGNED BY SPECIALISTS
Bear in mind, these are just a starting point as all holidays are customised to the specific requirements of our guests. Whether you prefer a different style of accommodation, a greater focus on a particular interest or to go to a different destination all together, every itinerary is created individually around your preferences.
DAR ES SALAAM
Landing in Dar es Salaam, you’ll connect with a local flight to the Selous Game Reserve, a remote wilderness in southeast Tanzania. You’ll spend the next four nights in a luxurious open-fronted cottage, spectacularly set on a curve of the majestic Rufiji River. You’ll explore the river on exciting boat safaris, meandering along its hidden waterways and tributaries as you look out for the wild animals that frequent its banks.
Game drives in purpose-built 4×4 vehicles will take you to see the reserve’s lions, leopards, monkeys, elephants, giraffes and crocodiles. Walking safaris are also available and offer a far more intimate experience of the African bush. Those feeling extra adventurous can even enjoy fly camping deep in the reserve, a chance to totally immerse yourself in the Tanzanian wilderness.
