You then have one night in Johannesburg before hopping aboard the Rovos Rail for an unforgettable ride to Cape Town. Then comes a stay in Cape Town, where you will have easy access to unmissable attractions like Robben Island, Table Mountain, the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and the sophisticated nightlife of the waterfront area.

TIMBAVATI PRIVATE NATURE RESERVE
Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you will board a short flight to Hoedspruit where you will be met and transferred to your lodge in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve.
Bordering the world-famous Kruger National Park, the Timbavati reserve was established in the 1950s and encompasses over 50,000-hectares of land with lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant all present, as well as a prolific bird life.
Your lodge sits at the heart of the reserve overlooking a game-rich watering hole. Surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature, with not a single fence in sight, you can expect a truly authentic safari experience here. Led by a team of expert rangers and trackers, your time will be spent enjoying walking safaris as well as morning and evening game drives in open-sided vehicles.

JOHANNESBURG
Flying back to Johannesburg, via Hoedspruit, you will be met and privately transferred to your stylish hotel in the cosmopolitan suburb of Atholl. Nestled amidst manicured gardens, the hotel boasts chic and spacious suites, a dazzling outdoor pool, and a shaded garden perfect for enjoying an alfresco meal. If you want to venture further afield, you are within easy reach of the city’s top attractions, as well as world-class boutiques, restaurants and bars.

ROVOS RAIL
This afternoon you will be transferred to Pretoria Train Station to begin your exciting journey to Cape Town. You will travel in style aboard the Rovos Rail, where you can enjoy the charming Victorian atmosphere of the dining, lounge and observation cars. With no radios or televisions on board, the Rovos Rail perfectly captures the spirit of travel in days gone by.
The 1,600-km journey will take you through some of South Africa’s finest natural landscapes. You will travel from the windswept grasslands of the Highveld to the haunting barrenness of the Great Karoo, taking in the spectacular mountains and scenic Winelands of the Cape. En route you will stop at Matjiesfontein, a perfectly preserved Victorian village, and Kimberly where you’ll be able to visit the world’s largest man-made excavation known as the ‘Big Hole’.

CAPE TOWN
Cradled by Lion’s Head, Devil’s Peak and Table Mountain, Cape Town is the perfect place to end your South African adventure with its gorgeous coastline, iconic sights and gastronomic delights. You’ll be staying in a sophisticated hotel overlooking the dramatic Twelve Apostles Mountain Range, just ten minutes from the city’s bustling centre.
You will find yourself perfectly positioned from which to explore a myriad of attractions. You can visit the prison cell that held Nelson Mandela at Robben Island, as well as the Cultural History Museum and the splendid Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Don’t miss out on seeing the penguins at Boulders Beach or the spectacular views from the summit of Table Mountain – one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.
