UNTAMED DESERT LANDSCAPE OF DAMARALAND
You’ll find Mowani Mountain Camp, with its outstanding views and stylish accommodation, hidden amongst huge boulders in the untamed desert landscape of Damaraland.
Consciously constructed to blend in with the surrounding landscape, Mowani’s shapes, textures and colours all mimic the magnificent desert scenery.
The 15 guestrooms and suites are equally unobtrusive with their canvas walls and thatched ceilings. All have modern ensuites and private decks, whilst the two luxury suites come with open-air bathrooms and spacious lounges. The best and most far-reaching views over the Damara landscape can be admired from the aptly named superior view rooms.
Enjoy game drives across the rugged landscape for a chance to come across the desert dwelling elephants, springbok and jackal that roam the plains. You can also take excursions to see the ancient rock engravings at Twyfelfontein, the country’s first designated World Heritage Site, and the geologically-remarkable Organ Pipes. The main lodge has a swimming pool where you can cool off and relax in between activities.
