ABOUT THE ITINERARY
Our Simply Botswana itinerary will take you on an epic journey through the Okavango Delta, a lush habitat brimming with interesting wildlife. Here, motorboats and dugout canoes are used to navigate past hippos, crocodiles and birds on winding waterways and lagoons. The quality of the game viewing, along with the natural beauty of this water wonderland, will astonish you.
But first you’ll pay a visit to the shimmering white Makgadikgadi Pans where you’ll find some of Botswana’s hardiest species. Enjoy a front row view of it all from your riverside camp.
DESIGNED BY SPECIALISTS
Bear in mind, these are just a starting point as all holidays are customised to the specific requirements of our guests. Whether you prefer a different style of accommodation, a greater focus on a particular interest or to go to a different destination all together, every itinerary is created individually around your preferences.
MAKGADIKGADI PANS
Your Botswana adventure begins on the banks of the Boteti River, which forms the boundary of Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.
Remnants of a giant super lake that once covered this part of Africa, the Makgadikgadi salt pans are the largest in the world. Day trips into the park reveal a striking landscape dominated by shimmering expanses of crusted salt studded with baobabs. During the rainy season the pans flood and attract a mini migration of zebra and wildebeest following ancient migration routes – an unpredictable but truly fascinating event.
In the dry season, the Boteti becomes a lifeline for the wildlife that inhabit the park. When not watching for lions, bushbucks, cheetahs and spotted hyenas from the comfort of your room, venture further afield on guided drives and bush walks. You can even enjoy boat activities if water levels permit. Cultural visits to the local village and day trips to Nxai pan and Baines Baobabs can also be arranged.
Stay: Three nights at Leroo La Tau in a thatched suite on a fully inclusive basis.

OKAVANGO DELTA
Your exploration of the world’s largest inland delta continues, transferring to a purely water-based camp on the remote island of Nxaragha.
Here in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, you can roam across the water in the comfort of a modern motorboat or take the old-fashioned route in a traditional mokoro (dugout canoe). Experienced guides will navigate you through the meandering, reed-lined waterways, allowing you to get up close to wildlife and explore the intricacies of the delta.
Although game drives are not possible, guided bush walks are offered on a number of nearby islands, allowing you to track some of the region’s larger land-based species. The birding opportunities are outstanding, whilst keen fishers can try their hand against bream and tiger fish.
Stay: Three nights at Camp Okavango in a safari suite on a fully inclusive basis.
